That's exactly why we designed our high-shear, low-speed shredder: ultra-uniform particle sizing at the perfect size and scale, with minimal dust and fines. The ultimate version of woodchip biochar.

Fine, medium or coarse
We supply single- or twin-stage shredding systems to suit your requirements. Our twin-stage shredders create the ultimate fine grade of biochar, perfect for blending and easy direct application. The medium grade from our single-stage shredder is often preferred where filtration or plant potting is the main aim.
High-shear cutting evolved from our work developing our BM biochar mill. The BM earns its place as the ideal choice for busting and reducing whole-log biochar, whereas our high-shear unit is built for woodchip biochar, leaving far fewer fines and a much more uniform fraction.

What does the model number mean?
The first digit is the number of shredding stages: HSS-1 models are single stage, HSS-2 models are twin stage for the finest grade. The last two digits identify the unit size. The range runs from HSS-105 to HSS-211.
What is the lead time?
Typically 8–12 weeks from an approved general arrangement drawing.
Can you fit it to our existing plant?
Yes. We survey the site, draw the interface and build to suit your flanges, heights and controls.
Do you install and commission?
Yes. We deliver, install, wire, test and commission, or supply for your own team to fit.
