QSM – Quench, Soak & Mix Chamber
Built for charging, not just cooling
A simple water quench only cools char. This chamber is designed for longer retention and a focused charging process: hot char drops into a sealed chamber, where water sprays can be used for initial cooling prior to a second spray bar adding nutrient-rich inoculant, and twin paddle shafts fold it through while it soaks, so the liquid is taken up into the pores.
Extended retention
A longer, controlled residence time so liquid is drawn into the pores, not left sitting on the surface.
Nutrient charging
Built around charging: fertilisers, digestate liquor, teas and microbial blends metered into the char stream.
Folded, not tumbled
Twin paddle shafts fold every particle through the spray zone for even uptake.
Cooled on the way
Char is brought to ≤40 °C and a controlled moisture as part of the same pass.
Dosing & inoculation →
Adds metered, flow-logged water and inoculant dosing to the chamber. Without it, the chamber is supplied as a mixing chamber ready for your own water supply.

QSM – Quench, Soak & Mix Chamber
Charged biochar needs time for nutrients to soak into the pores, not a quick splash of water. The chamber gives controlled retention and mixing, and cools the char to ≤40 °C in the same pass.

What does the model number mean?
It is the working chamber volume in m³. Sizes run from QSM-01 to QSM-20, chosen to give the retention and soak time your throughput needs.
What is the lead time?
Typically 10–16 weeks from an approved general arrangement drawing.
Can you fit it to our existing plant?
Yes. We survey the site, draw the interface and build to suit your flanges, heights and controls.
Do you install and commission?
Yes. We deliver, install, wire, test and commission, or supply for your own team to fit.
Tell us your material and tonnage. We'll size it.
Send photos, drawings or just a description. You get a sized proposal and a firm price.
